Our Story

My name is Mary Polin and I am the owner and developer of Whisper Creek Soaps.

I began this journey approximately four years ago.  My husband was suffering from dry, scaly and bleeding skin caused by his exposure to Agent Orange while he served in Vietnam.  I wanted to do something to help him and began doing research into various all NATURAL products that I could use to develop a soap for him.

My eyes were opened as I found that most soaps are just detergents.   Most with the same type of ingredients you would find in other cleaning products.  They contain multiple surfactants, great for cleaning,  but not very good for your skin.

After two years I learned about Donkey Milk and it’s benefits.

Since the development of the soap, my husband’s skin has cleared up and I am very happy to have helped him.

I never expected my kitchen would turn into a research lab or a development area.  Nor did I expect this simple NATURAL soap would turn into a business – but here I am, at 73, feeling like the old donut commercial early in the morning “it’s time to make the soap.

WHY DONKEY MILK

Donkey Milk has been used in all types of products in Europe for centuries.  Cleopatra kept a stable of 700 donkeys so she could bathe in their milk.
Donkey milk is filled with polyunsaturated fatty acids, the most important being linoleic acid.  No other milk compares when it comes to the abundance of nutrients in donkey milk.

Linoleic acid is a major component of the uppermost layer of your skin.  Donkey Milk contains 14.1 g/100g vs. Goat Milk that only has 3.02g/100g.

Donkey milk contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, D and E, as well as the minerals calcium, magnesium,  phosphorus, sodium, iron and zinc.  Because it’s PH is very close to human skin, it is gentle and great for children and people with various skin conditions.

The honey adds antibacterial and moisturizing properties to the soap.
